Parker Duofold True Blue Limited Edition Fountain Pen
This magnificent writing instrument was released in 2007 as a present day rendering of the exquisite Parker True Blue of the 1920's. This extremely rare masterpiece pays homage to George S. Parker.
In 1928, Parker launched a range of slender and contemporary pens. These writing instruments were marketed along side the Duofold but was pitched at half the price. The pen cost $3.50 back then and initially targeted a younger demographic such as college students.
Students adored the extraordinary new colors and avant-garde design. In fact, in the late 1920's Parker's advertising stated that the three fifty was voted 'user's choice' in ear;y U.S. market research. Over time, the three fifty pens became known as the True Blue. Today, pristine examples are as rare as they are beautiful.
The inspiration behind the blue and white styling used in the True Blue is a mystery since artistic trends of that day were more geometric than the fluid streaks. The Parker True Blue was a true innovation - unbeatable quality coupled with ultra-modern design.
Parker uses the infinitely contemporary design of blending cerulean blue and creamy white to make a 21st century replica of the exquisite True Blue of the 1920's. This magnificent writing instrument has a spirit of tranquility and vibrancy. The Parker Duofold True Blue features an 18k gold nib.
