GRAF VON FABER CASTELL 2019 PEN OF THE YEAR SAMURAI GFC145167 ROLLERBALL
LIMITED TO 120 PIECES.
COMES BOX AND PAPERS.
Courage and self-discipline – the samurai were driven by lofty virtues. The Pen of the Year 2019 was inspired by their era, spanning several centuries, by the aesthetics of their weapons and by their mindset. The barrel made of dark-stained magnolia wood is reminiscent of the Samurais' long swords (katanas). Their sheath and handle were made of untreated magnolia wood.
RUTHENIUM
Samurais believe that intuition is just as important as the intellectual learning of the rules so that they can be free of selfishness and wrong intentions. In line with this tenet, the dark stained barrel made of magnolia wood features a quote engraved in 24-carat-gold varnish by Miyamoto Musashi, “Today I win against myself of yesterday”.
